Yin Yang

My Approach

Acupuncture is a collection of several diagnostic and treatment techniques. This means the treatment can be uniquely tailored for you.

My acupuncture and homeopathy practice includes treating people of all ages, including children. Age and condition are always considered when planning a treatment so each patient is treated according to his or her tolerances.

Some Conditions Treated

Allergies or arthritis
Pre-menstrual syndrome
Back spasm
Carpal tunnel
Swollen glands
Sciatica, numbness
Recurring Infections
Learning Difficulties
Depression
Smoking Cessation
Facial Rejuvenation

After interviewing the client and applying knowledge of Oriental diagnostic procedures, I make a plan of treatment. I combine techniques of acupuncture with almost no sensation of the needle detected. I rely on the Japanese style ;and complement this basic technique with other methods as your situation requires. Some other techniques which I may use include magnetic stimulation, moxibustion, cupping techniques and gua sha, Chinese herbology and lifestyle and dietary counseling; These are all applied in accordance with the traditions and formal curricula taught in accredited colleges of acupuncture.

I also use homeopathy in tandem with acupuncture or as a single modality when appropriate. Each treatment plan will use one modality as the primary mode of treatment and the other modalities are used only as necessary to support the primary approach.

A Balanced Treatment May...

Normalize inflammatory response
Balance hormonal systems
Relax muscles
Loosen strained connective tissues
Improve lymph drainage
Normalize nerve transmissions
Enhance immune function
Calm the mind Prevent susceptibility to disease
Break up responses that perpetuate illnesses

During the course of acupuncture and homeopathy treatment, I have seen patients reduce or even eliminate their pain medication and use of anti-depressants. Sleep improves and their spirits are lifted.

We often hear that acupuncture affects pain by blocking neuro-transmitters. While it is true that acupuncture can temporarily block nerve transmission as in anesthesia, this is not recommended for long term health. It is important that your treatment be balanced to relieve the conditions that are causing the pain. Keeping this in mind, your treatments are always approached with the ultimate goal of healing the cause of your discomfort.

A sophisticated treatment plan will address specific systems as required while ensuring the overall balance of the individual. No single treatment approach can be useful for every situation.

Can you make an appointment for a treatment if you do not have a specific complaint?  Absolutely.  Regular monthly or seasonal acupuncture treatments are an excellent way to stay health andresilient. Many people find they enjoy the renewed energy following the deep relaxation of acupuncture.
